Former India captain Virat Kohli put an end to the long wait for a century in international cricket as he slammed a career-best unbeaten 122 against Afghanistan in the Super 4 stage of the recently concluded Asia Cup. He also ended the tournament as the highest run-getter, also scoring two half-centuries in the tournament, with which he signalled a much awaited return to form.
The members of the Indian cricket team came forward to extend birthday wishes to batter Suryakumar Yadav, who turned 32 on Wednesday. Suryakumar has been an integral part of Team India, whose powerful knocks took the team across the line on many occassions. The stars like Virat Kohli, Kuldeep Yadav, Yuvraj Singh, were among those who shared wishes for Suryakumar on their social media on his special day. A day after former Pakistan all-rounder Shahid Afridi came out with some retirement advice for India star Virat Kohli, former India leg-spinner Amit Mishra had a sharp reply. Afridi had said that Kohli, whenever he chooses to retire, should do so on a high and that it shouldn't come at a stage when he is being dropped from the team. Reacting to a news report on Afridi's quotes, Amit Mishra wrote "Dear Afridi, some people retire only once so please spare Virat Kohli from all this."
