All eyes will be on Team India when they take on arch-rivals Pakistan in their opening match of T20 World Cup Super 12 stage on Sunday in Melbourne. Since arriving in Australia earlier this month, the Rohit Sharma-led side has played two practice matches, in Perth, and two warm-up games, in Brisbane. India defeated Australia in their first warm-up match, while their second game against New Zealand was washed out due to rain. With India set to face Pakistan on Sunday, the Board of Control for Cricket in India shared a video of the team's journey from Brisbane to Melbourne.
As Team India gears up for the T20 World Cup 2022 clash against Pakistan, the craze and excitement among the fans is clearly visible. Over the years, the rivalry between the two teams has showcased a brilliant game of cricket due to the high-level of competition. The mouth-watering clash between both the teams will unfold on October 23 but the hype around the match has been going on since a long time now. Apart from the fans, many cricket experts and former cricketers have also expressed their excitement regarding the match but India wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant has a special take on the upcoming clash against Pakistan.
Virat Kohli's immense experience helps in dealing with pressure situation, says star batter Rishabh Pant, who is hoping to rekindle his batting partnership with the former skipper when India takes on Pakistan in the T20 World Cup on Sunday. "He (Kohli) can actually teach you how to go through situations, which might help you in your cricket journey going forward, so it is nice batting with him as always," Pant was quoted as saying by the T20 World Cup site. "It's good to have someone with a lot of experience batting with you because he can take you through how to take the game on and how to maintain that run-a-ball pressure kind of thing."
India's second and final warm-up game against New Zealand was on Wednesday abandoned without a ball being bowled due to persistent rain at The Gabba in Brisbane. Both the Indian and New Zealand teams failed to hit the ground as heavens opened up during Pakistan's chase of 155 against Afghanistan at the same venue in the first practice match of the day.
The ‘poster boy of Indian cricket' Virat Kohli is a name that doesn't need any introduction in the global cricketing spectrum. Kohli has been a big servant of the game for years and has given Indian cricket new dimensions both as a batter and a captain. He might not be the Indian skipper at present but he still remains one of the strongest pillars of the Indian team. However, as the International Cricket Council (ICC) shared a video featuring a few stalwarts of the Indian team, Kohli was nowhere to be seen.
The anticipation for the T20 World Cup match between India and Pakistan is building rapidly. The two teams are to square off on October 23 in what would be their opening match in the tournament. Ahead of the big match, the talismans of the two teams -- Babar Azam and Virat Kohli -- were spotted batting side-by-side in the nets. The moment was a unique one for fans on social media as two of the greatest batters of the modern generation were spotted showing their skills parallely.
In a few days things will get real serious for all the top cricket teams as the 2022 T20 World Cup Super 12 stage begins on October 22. Before that, however, it was time for some fun for the cricketers with comedian Danish Sait. He threw funny questions at cricketers from Pakistan, India and Bangladesh. "Ashwin, did you come to Australia on tourist visa or work visa," was just one of the questions that left the spinner surprised. However, what took the cake was the question to Virat Kohli, who has often been found wanting against deliveries that move away from the off-stump.
