The row between Indian players and media and Australian media over Indian players answering questions only in Hindi and to Indian media has escalated significantly, and it all started when all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja did not take any questions in English in an on-field press conference on Saturday. Jadeja had reportedly arrived late to the questioning session, and left without taking a question in English. However, former India all-rounder Irfan Pathan has jumped to Jadeja's defence, stating that there shouldn't be a problem if a player chooses to answer only in Hindi.

Star India batter Virat Kohli has been labelled as "bully" after his recent argument with a female journalist earlier this week. This comes after Kohli lashed out at Nat Yoannidis, a local journalist upon landing with his family at the Melbourne Airport. Kohli was seemingly unhappy with the journalist for filming his kids without his permission, citing privacy concerns. The 36-year-old had also warned Indian journalist in the past, against clicking pictures of his son and daughter. However, this rule doesn't apply in Australia as the journalist are free to record and click pictures of the celebrities.

Akash Deep is not a native English speaker, and hence could not answer questions in English, but Australian media outlet Channel 7 have now suggested that this may've been a "message" from the Indian camp. In fact, the channel stated that Indian reporters had also not helped out Australian reporters with their questions.
