Beating most of their European rivals to the punch, Bayern Munich have gone early by releasing their brand new 2026-27 home kit with a month of the season left to play.
HONG KONG: A wondergoal from Luis Diaz powered a youthful Bayern Munich to a 2-1 win over Aston Villa in a pre-season friendly in Hong Kong on Friday. Diaz starred in Colombia’s run to the World Cup last-16 and the winger lit up a sometimes scrappy game between last season’s German double-winners and the Europa League champions. Bayern hit the front in the 37th minute when South Korean defender Kim Min-jae ghosted in to glance a free-kick into the far corner from the edge of the six-yard box. The Bavarian club brought some of their big guns off the bench in the second half and started turning the screw, Diaz having a shot cleared off the line. He stretched the lead in trademark style in the 73rd minute, picking up the ball on the left, jinking inside and cracking a dipping shot in off the crossbar. It was a superb strike that delighted the majority of the 38,000 fans inside Kai Tak stadium who were mostly cheering for Bayern. Villa pulled one back in the 83rd minute when new signing Joao Gomes took aim from the edge of the area and left Manuel Neuer with no chance. They nearly equalized moments later but the legendary German stopper reacted quickly to block Tammy Abraham’s point-blank header, and Bayern closed out the game. Several World Cup stars, including Bayern’s Michael Olise and Harry Kane, did not travel to Hong Kong. “I told the players honestly that I was impressed (with the performance) because you know who’s there and you know who’s not there,” Bayern coach Vincent Kompany said. “It’s difficult to go into these games... and still look the same, still look (like) the Bayern Munich that we can be. “The last 10 or 15 minutes were a little bit a reflection of what pre-season is — a lot of changes...
Pelatih Bayern Munich Vincent Kompany percaya, pencapaian timnya di musim lalu sulit dilampaui. Kompany kini membidik juara Liga Champions di musim depan.
HONG KONG: Bayern Munich coach Vincent Kompany said on Thursday it would be “really tough” to improve on last season’s performances but was hopeful new signings could help power the German giants to a first Champions League title since 2020. The Bavarian side won a league and cup double last season but went out of Europe’s top competition in the semifinals to eventual champions Paris Saint-Germain. The thrilling 6-5 aggregate defeat extended the wait for continental glory at Germany’s wealthiest and most decorated club, where domestic success is often taken for granted. “Right now, I will say our goal is to win the Champions League,” Kompany told reporters in Hong Kong ahead of Friday’s friendly against Aston Villa. “During the season, I will tell you we have to focus on the next game, because you cannot win the Champions League in September, you cannot win it in October. “I think we have improved a little bit as well on the squad, with some of the transfers. “Hopefully this gives us a chance to achieve our goal. It’s tough to do better than last year, really tough, but it has to be our goal.” Bayern have made two major signings this summer, bringing in Moroccan midfielder Ismael Saibari from PSV Eindhoven and German defender Nathaniel Brown from Eintracht Frankfurt. Several of their World Cup stars, including French attacker Michael Olise and England captain Harry Kane, have not traveled with the squad to Asia.

Bayern Munich resmi mendatangkan Nathaniel Brown dari Eintracht Frankfurt. Ia dikontrak hingga Juni 2031.
MUNICH: Bayern Munich on Friday announced Germany defender Nathaniel Brown has joined the club from Eintracht Frankfurt on a deal running until 2031. The defending Bundesliga champions paid a reported fee of 55 million euros ($63 million) to Frankfurt to bring Brown, 23, to the club, where he will compete with injury-troubled Alphonso Davies in the left-back position. Calling Bayern “one of the best clubs in the world,” Brown said conversations with coach Vincent Kompany convinced him to make the move. “I’ve always dreamed of playing for the biggest titles at the highest level; I set myself the highest goals and want to get the maximum out of myself every day.”
MUNICH: Bayern Munich have signed Morocco’s World Cup standout Ismael Saibari from Dutch champion PSV Eindhoven for a reported fee of $63 million. The 25-year-old Saibari signed a contract through June 2031 and will wear the No. 34 jersey at Bayern, the Bavarian powerhouse announced Wednesday. Saibari chose the number in tribute to his friend Abdelhak Nouri, who collapsed on the field during a friendly match between Ajax and Werder Bremen in July 2017.
