Under-pressure David Warner was Wednesday spared the axe and included in Australia's squad for the first two Ashes Tests and the World Test Championship final, while all-rounder Mitchell Marsh earned a recall. Veteran opener Warner is fighting to save his career after a lean run with the bat that had some questioning whether his time was over. But the 36-year-old will head to England as part of a 17-man squad that also includes Josh Inglis as cover for wicketkeeper Alex Carey, and Marcus Harris and Matthew Renshaw as back-up batters.

The star batter reached the triple figures in the longest format after a hiatus of 3.5 years. Starting Day 3 at 289/3, Team India lost the wicket of Ravindra Jadeja after the all-rounder played a reckless shot and gave away his wicket to Todd Murphy. After his dismissal, wicketkeeper-batter KS Bharat was sent onto the crease as Shreyas Iyer had missed out on the match due to pain in his lower back. Bharat gave a strong support to Kohli and impressed everyone with his knock of 44 runs. However, there was a moment in the match when Kohli lost his cool at the youngster.

The star batsman looked in mighty touch but his innings finally came to an end as he was caught in the deep by Marnus Labuschagne. With wickets falling on the other end, Kohli looked to accelerate the innings and a miscue off Murphy spelled the end of a near-perfect innings. The disappointment was clear on Kohli's face as he missed out on a major milestone but there was no dearth of adulation from the fans as they go up on their feet and Kohli received a standing ovation as he left the field.
