West Indies vs New Zealand, 3rd ODI Live Score Updates

WI vs NZ, 3rd ODI Live Updates: New Zealand won the toss and opted to bat against West Indies in the third and final ODI in Bridgetown, Barbados. The series is evenly poised at 1-1 after New Zealand's comprehensive win in the previous match. New Zealand are yet to win an ODI series in the West Indies, but now have the opportunity to do so. The visitors had earlier won the T20I series 2-1. West Indies, on the other hand, have won just one of their last 11 ODIs, which has seen them lose three series on the trot. (LIVE SCORECARD)

Watch: Michael Bracewell Takes A Blinder To Dismiss Brandon King In New Zealand's 2nd ODI vs West Indies

New Zealand defeated West Indies by 50 runs in the rain-affected second ODI match between the sides at Kensington Oval, Barbados on Friday. Given that the guests were trailing 0-1 in the three-match series, it was a much-needed victory for them. Finn Allen was their star on the match day as he scored 96 runs to take the side to 212 before it got bundled out. Meanwhile, Michael Bracewell also hogged limelight, not for his batting or bowling but for a sensational catch he took in the match.

2nd ODI: Tim Southee, Trent Boult demolish West Indies top order as New Zealand level series

Tim Southee and Trent Boult combined to demolish the West Indies top-order batting as New Zealand scored a series-levelling victory in the second one-day international of a three-match series at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Friday. After Finn Allen's 96 anchored the Black Caps to 212 off 48.2 overs batting first on another challenging pitch, Southee and Bolt claimed three wickets apiece as the home side limped to 63 for seven off 22.4 overs when a second heavy shower resulted in a prolonged delay to the day/night fixture. Set a revised target of 212 off 41 overs on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern scoring method, Yannic Cariah's 52 in his debut ODI innings and a swashbuckling 49 off 31 balls by Alzarri Joseph gave the tourists a fright in a frenetic 85-run ninth-wicket partnership. However, Southee was summoned by stand-in captain Tom Latham and he responded immediately by bowling Joseph while Allen completed an excellent boundary catch to end Cariah's effort as the West Indies were eventually dismissed for 161 off 35.3 overs to lose by 50 runs and set the stage for the series decider on Sunday. Southee's final figures were four for 19 while Boult's six-over spell at the start of the innings earned him three for 18.

"Will Hear More": Australia Great On Trent Boult And Likely Trend To Move Away From International Cricket

New Zealand Cricket (NZC) recently announced that Trent Boult will have a "significantly reduced" role with the Black Caps after the star fast bowler asked to be released from his central contract. "This has been a really tough decision for me and I'd like to thank NZC for their support in getting to this point," said the star pacer. "Playing cricket for my country was a childhood dream and I'm so proud of everything I've been able to achieve with the Black Caps over the past 12 years. Ultimately, this decision is about my wife Gert and our three young boys."

West Indies vs New Zealand 1st ODI Live Updates And Live Score

West Indies vs New Zealand 1st ODI Live Updates: After losing the ODI series against India, West Indies would hope for a turnaround in the series against New Zealand. However, the task will not be easy as they are coming into the series after 1-2 loss against New Zealand in the T20I series. West Indies leaked runs against India in the ODI series and considering New Zealand have a few aggressive batters in their ranks, it will be cause of worry for the hosts. Trent Boult released from New Zealand contract, wants to spend more time at home

Trent Boult was released from his central contract with New Zealand Cricket (NZC) at his own request on Wednesday so he can spend less time travelling and more time at home with his family. The 33-year-old, who has played 70 Tests and 137 limited-overs internationals since 2011, will continue to play for his country but have a "significantly reduced role", NZC said. "This has been a really tough decision for me ... playing cricket for my country was a childhood dream and I'm so proud of everything I've been able to achieve," Boult said in an NZC statement. "Ultimately this decision is about my wife Gert and our three young boys. Family has always been the biggest motivator for me and I feel comfortable with putting it first and preparing ourselves for life after cricket." Boult and Tim Southee have been one of the most feared strike partnerships in international cricket over the last decade, helping New Zealand to the inaugural World Test Championship title last year and the finals of the last two 50-overs World Cups. The left-arm quick has taken 317 Test wickets, 169 in ODIs and a further 62 in T20Is.
