Imane Khelif's Leaked Medical Report Triggers Fresh War, IOC Chief Asked To "Kneel And Apologise"

Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is once again in the news. Her 'leaked' medical report, suggesting the presence of ambiguous genitalia and secondary male characteristics has made many suggest that the pugilist is indeed a 'biological male'. A report by French journalist Djaffar Ait Aoudia stressed that Imane Khelif had internal testicles and an XY chromosome makeup, which hint towards a 5-alpha reductase deficiency. As the report became public, IBA President Umar Kremlev demanded apology from International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach for allowing a 'man' to compete against women in the Paris Olympic Games.

Despite Internal Challenges Within IOA, Commitment To Host 2036 Olympics Remains Steadfast: PT Usha

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha on Tuesday insisted that its commitment to host the 2036 Summer Games "remained steadfast" despite the "internal challenges" her organisation has been facing due to her feud with the Executive Council members. Usha has been engaging in a raging fight with 12 EC members who have refused to ratify the appointment of Raghuram Iyer as the IOA CEO made by her in January. "Despite some internal challenges within the IOA, our commitment to hosting the 2036 Summer Games remains steadfast. The IOA remained in continuous contact with the IOC and I am optimistic that India will be viewed as a gracious host," Usha said in a video sent by her office.

Athletics Legend Sebastian Coe Vies With Six Rivals For IOC Presidency

World Athletics chief Sebastian Coe is the highest profile of the seven candidates to have declared on Monday their bid to succeed International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach. Coe will face stiff opposition from, amongst others, Kirsty Coventry, bidding to become the first woman and African to head the IOC, and cycling boss David Lappartient. The charismatic Briton, a two-time Olympic 1500 metres champion, also has challenges due to the rules laid down last week by the IOC Ethics Commission. Coe turns 68 on September 29 and although there is room for manoeuvre to raise the retirement age of IOC members and presidents to 74 he will be older than that come the end of an eight-year mandate.
