But the good news is that Bumrah has bowled seven overs in a day at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) nets, a development that will bring smile to the Indian fans looking forward to the 2023 World Cup with optimism. The schedule for the mega event was released in Mumbai on Tuesday. Bumrah had undergone surgery for a recurring back niggle in New Zealand in March and since then he has been on the recovery path.

India pacer Arshdeep Singh claimed his maiden wicket of County cricket by removing Ben Foakes with a perfect inswinger. Making his debut for English county team Kent against Surrey, the left-arm pacer went over the wicket and bowled a good length delivery to Foakes. The ball swung into the right-handed batter and caught him plumb in front of the stumps. Arshdeep ended the Surrey innings with figures of 2 for 43 in the 14.2 overs he bowled. He bowled four maidens.

Batting mainstay Virat Kohli joined the national team's training session on Monday at the picturesque Arundel Castle Cricket Club along with left-arm seamer Jaydev Unadkat, who seemed to have recovered from left shoulder injury. India will play Australia at the Oval in the one-off Test from June 7 to 11. The BCCI on Monday shared pictures of the members of the team, including Kohli, pace duo of Umesh Yadav and Mohammed Siraj on their official twitter handle. "Team India members begin their preparations for the WTC23 at Arundel Castle Cricket Club," BCCI said in a tweet.

Team India head coach Rahul Dravid was in attendance for Match 32 of IPL 2023 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium. Despite being a Bengaluru boy, Dravid was spotted sitting in the 'pink corner' with the RR owners and pacer Prasidh Krishna, who is out of the tournament due to an injury. Dravid, who started his IPL career with RCB in 2008, moved to RR ahead of IPL 2011 and played his last game during the 2013 Champions Trophy final.

Pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar is arguably one of the finest pacers India ever produced. Over the years, he took Team India across the line on numerous occasions, with his blistering pace. However, Bhuvneshwar faced a lot of flak after he failed to leave a mark in the 2022 T20 World Cup. The 33-year-old pacer could only scalp four wickets in the entire tournament and leaked a lot of runs in the death overs. He played his last match for India against New Zealand in November 2022 and has been out of favor since then.
