Ducati have confirmed that rider Francesco Bagnaia suffered a fractured ankle in his collision with Maverick Vinales at the French MotoGP. The pair touched and then crashed out as they both vied for P3 on the day in Le Mans. Ad Ducati expect Bagnaia to be fit enough to race at the upcoming Italian GP, however.
BT Sport experts Michael Laverty and Sylvain Guintoli believe that Maverick Vinales was not at fault for the crash with Francesco Bagnaia at the French MotoGP. Sylvain Guintoli has revealed the hand injury that forced him to miss last month’s Suzuka 8 Hours is “not completely healed” as he prepares to contest the Bol d’Or 24-hour race. Guintoli can help Yoshimura SERT Motul win the FIM Endurance World Championship for Teams for the second consecutive season but conceded prior to the start that he wasn’t fully fit.
Sylvain Guintoli is back on track in the FIM Endurance World Championship after injury forced him to miss last month’s 43rd Coca-Cola Suzuka 8 Hours Endurance Race. Guintoli hurt his left hand during a fall in practice for Japan’s EWC counter but returned to riding duties for his Suzuki-powered Yoshimura SERT Motul team during testing for the 100th anniversary Bol d’Or yesterday (Tuesday).
Xavier Siméon, one of the fastest and most successful riders of the current FIM Endurance World Championship generation, has called time on his career as a professional rider. The Belgian, who partnered Gregg Black and Sylvain Guintoli to glory in April’s 24 Heures Motos at Le Mans having claimed the EWC title with the French duo in 2021 for Yoshimura SERT Motul, made his decision for personal reasons after a period of reflection and consideration over the summer.
