CAPE TOWN : Hosts South Africa will take the attack to more fancied England in Friday’s Women’s World Cup semi-final at Newlands, as captain Sune Luus believes they have "nothing to lose" in their bid for a first ever final spot.
England -- who were already assured of a place in the last four -- clinched top place in Group Two with a crushing 114-run win over Pakistan.
With the comfortable win, Australia made it a perfect four wins from their four group games to cruise into the semifinals of the cricketing extravaganza. Chasing a par 125, Australia reached their target with 21 balls to spare with McGrath hitting a powerpacked 33-ball 57. Australia were put under pressure by South Africans in the chase early as at one stage they were in trouble at 40 for three but McGrath and Gardner (28 not out off 29) went for their shots in a fourth-wicket partnership of 81 to secure victory for the champions.
