‘IOC’s latest move casts shadow over India’s bid to host major events’
International Olympic Committee’s (IOC) renewed threat to ban India over its national Olympic body’s failure to address “ongoing internal disputes, governance shortcomings and court cases” has put the country’s hopes of hosting the 2030 Youth Olympics and 2036 Summer Olympics in jeopardy. IOC’s warning on Thursday has come as a rude wakeup call for the Indian sports officials, who have been nurturing hopes of presenting a blueprint of the proposed Olympic projects before the world body’s top leadership during its visit to India in 2023 for the IOC Session.
