China's Su Yiming claimed a second snowboard medal at the Winter Olympics as the teenager won a stunning gold in the men's big air event in Beijing.
BEIJING: China's 17-year-old Su Yiming became the host nation's latest hero after adding snowboard Big Air gold on Tuesday (Feb 15) to the silver he won last week.
The Beijing 2022 snowboard competitions were chock-full of high flight in the big air, halfpipe and slopestyle events, and top speed and racing guile on the snowboard cross and parallel giant slalom courses.
Su Yiming won gold for China in the snowboarding big air final scoring 182.5, over ten points clear of second place. The 17-year-old shone in a competitive field to claim top prize on home snow, which saw slopestyle champion Max Parrot settle for bronze. Sandwiched in between was Norway’s Mons Roisland who took secured silver.
