After Cameron Green gave Australia a blistering start in the third T20I in Hyderabad, India came back strong. After Bhuvneshwar Kumar sent Green packing for a 21-ball 52, Glenn Maxwell and Steve Smith fell in quick succession as well. Maxwell's run out, however, was contentious, as Dinesh Karthik had accidentally knocked one stump off before he got the ball. Thankfully for him, though, the other bail was still lodged on the stumps and when the ball hit and removed it, the third umpire deemed it to be out.

India's bowling attack has come under the scanner recently, but star pacer Jasprit Bumrah on Friday showed exactly why his return was so highly anticipated with a peach of a delivery to castle Australia captain Aaron Finch in the third T20I in Nagpur. Finch looked in destructive mood until Bumrah came on to bowl in the shortened match and castled him with a low full toss. The delivery dipped on Finch and cramped him for space, and the Australia opener could not get his bat down on time. The ball went on hit his leg-stump, ending his knock of 31 off 15 deliveries.

India batter Suryakumar Yadav and all-rounder Hardik Pandya have made huge gains in the ICC Men's T20I Player Rankings after fine efforts in the opening T20I of their three-match series against Australia in Mohali on Tuesday, with the former overtaking Pakistan's Babar Azam to gain the third spot. Yadav has moved up one slot after scoring 46 off 25 balls while Pandya's knock of 71 in 30 balls has lifted him 22 places to 65th position. Pandya has also overtaken Australia's Glenn Maxwell to take the fifth position among all-rounders.
