Coco Gauff reached the French Open quarter-finals for the second successive year on Sunday with a straight sets victory over Belgium's Elise Mertens. Gauff, 18, won 6-4, 6-0 and will face either US compatriot, and 2018 runner-up, Sloane Stephens or 23rd-seeded Jil Teichmann of Switzerland for a spot in the semi-finals.
