Spurs have been handed a major transfer boost in their chase to sign Inter defender Stefan de Vrij this summer.
"FC Internazionale Milano have announced that they have reached an agreement to extend Marcelo Brozovic's contract. The 29-year-old midfielder will be an Inter player until 30 June, 2026," the club said in a statement.
Paulo Dybala will be playing his football for a new club next season after Juventus announced on Monday evening that the club would not be renewing the Argentine forward's contract.
AC Milan kept hold of their three-point lead at the top of Serie A on Saturday with a 1-0 win at Cagliari, while Inter Milan fell further behind their local rivals after being held 1-1 by Fiorentina. Ismael Bennacer struck the only goal in the 59th minute of a hard-fought match in Sardinia to keep Napoli at arm's length after they briefly drew level on points thanks to Victor Osimhen's double in a 2-1 win over Udinese. A third win on the bounce for Stefano Pioli's side stretched their unbeaten league run to eight games and increased hopes of a first Scudetto since 2011, but it was a match marred by racist abuse directed at Mike Maignan and Fikayo Tomori from a section of home fans at the final whistle which sparked a on-pitch shoving match. "Maignan said to me 'It's not possible that we're hearing these sorts of insults'," Pioli told DAZN. "It's the first time that he's reacted and that means something bad happened that shouldn't have happened. Tomori said the same thing."
Manchester United are still in the race to sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, according to reports.
(Reuters) - Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi said he is not too concerned by his team's inconsistent form in recent weeks and backed them to get their Serie A title defence back on track starting with Saturday's clash against Fiorentina.
Inter Milan manager Simone Inzaghi said he is not too concerned by his team's inconsistent form in recent weeks and backed them to get their Serie A title defence back on track starting with Saturday's clash against Fiorentina.
Inter Milan are still firmly in the title race but they have to start finding a way to win when not playing well, like their main rivals AC Milan, to keep pace with the Serie A leaders. The champions are second in the standings ahead of their home clash with eighth-placed Fiorentina on Saturday, four points behind Milan with a game in hand. But while the pacesetters have won their last two games when not even close to their best, Inter have been held to draws by Genoa and Torino in two of their previous three matches in encounters they controlled while lacking a cutting edge.
