Aside from both being at home on clay, they are the only two players to win back-to-back titles at the French Open this century (Kuerten in 2000 and 2001, Nadal numerous times).
Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal could meet in the French Open men's singles quarter-finals.
Men’s world No.8 Casper Ruud say while playing in Rome, he was excited to watch some of the women’s tournament, with one player’s performances particularly pleasing him. “It’s impressive to see Ons (Jabeur). She plays different from many other women," Ruud said on the latest episode of Eurosport's Ruud Talk podcast.
Iga Swiatek, who won her fifth tournament in a row in Rome on Sunday, will go into the French Open as top seed after consolidating her place as world number one on Monday.
Emma Raducanu is one of four former major champions named on the entry list for the Rothesay Classic Birmingham, and says she “can’t wait” to return to British soil for the 40th anniversary event — the first time since her US Open win last September. The current world No.12 will be the highest-ranked player at the tournament — the biggest female-only tennis event in Britain — and is relishing the prospect of playing at Edgbaston Priory Club for the first time in her career.
