Sunrisers Hyderabad continued their turnaround in IPL 2022 after defeating Kolkata Knight Riders by seven wickets for their third straight victory on Friday.
Former Pakistan skipper Rashid Latif lauded fast bowler Umran Malik after he produced a stunning performance to help SRH get over the line vs KKR. Umran bowled superbly for his 2/27 and got the crucial scalp of Shreyas Iyer and Sheldon Jackson which helped SRH restrict KKR to 175/8 in 20 overs. Umran took centerstage after castling the stumps of KKR skipper Shreyas with a superb yorker for 28 runs.
Young SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) pacer Umran Malik has put on an exciting display of fast bowling ever since his Indian Premier League (IPL) debut last year. This year too, he was among the few positives for SRH as they got off to a slow start in IPL 2022. In their win against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Friday, he put on a brilliant display of raw pace, but also added good line and lengths to help restrict the opposition to 175/8. He picked two wickets and gave away just 27 runs in his four overs, and would be especially pleased with how he got rid of KKR captain Shreyas Iyer.
The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 has made the cricketing world take notice of the talent possessed by 35-year-old Sheldon Jackson, not only as a batter but also as a wicketkeeper. Despite some ordinary batting performances so far in IPL 2022, Jackson has been able to impress everyone with his lightning fast glovework behind the stumps. Such has been his impact that one of his admirers also include former wicketkeeper-batter and current head coach of the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) franchise, Brendon McCullum. The former New Zealand captain seemed quite impressed by Jackson's technique with the bat and glovework and even likened his skills to that of MS Dhoni and Andre Russell.
The IPL 2022 is up and running and teams are now looking to gain much-needed momentum to keep their campaign on track. Punjab Kings are playing their second game of the season on Friday evening against the Kolkata Knight Riders and the franchise will look to register their second win on the trot. Ahead of the fixture, PBKS stars Shikhar Dhawan, Arshdeep Singh and Kagiso Rabada were seen showing some dance moves during a gym session. Dhawan posted a video on his Instagram account and in that, he can be seen dancing alongside Kagiso Rabada, Odean Smith, Arshdeep Singh and Harpreet Brar. He captioned the post as: "Punjabi tadka aur Caribbean Masti. #TeamBonding."
KKR vs PBKS, IPL 2022, Live Updates: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in match 8 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. KKR will look to get back to winnings ways after losing to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their previous game. PBKS, on the other hand, started their season with an emphatic win over RCB, as they chased down a daunting total of 206 with ease. PBKS could be boosted by the presence of star pacer Kagiso Rabada, who is out of quarantine and ready to go. KKR, meanwhile, will have to address a few batting issues in the middle-order. Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to continue with their risk-taking approach despite mixed returns when they take on Punjab Kings in the Indian Premier League in Mumbai on Friday. KKR head into Friday's game at the back of a three-wicket loss against RCB, although they managed to make the game close after a below-par total. PBKS began their campaign with a win but they would expecting a better bowling effort after conceding more than 200 runs in their first game. South Africa speedster Kagiso Rabada is expected to play after completing his three-day quarantine and that will give a big boost to the Punjab attack.
For several years, Yuzvendra Chahal was the strike bowler for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), picking key wickets and doing so in heaps. However, he was released by the franchise ahead of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 and not bought back in the Mega Auction, with the team opting to spend big on Sri Lankan leg-spinning all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga. Chahal was bought by Rajasthan Royals in the auction, and he had a brilliant debut for them, picking three wickets against SunRisers Hyderabad. However, his ties with his old franchise remain strong as was displayed during RCB's match against KKR on Wednesday.
