DUSSELDORF: One of Germany’s top players at the World Cup in Qatar could easily have been in the England squad.
Germany will be looking to win a fifth World Cup title at the Nov. 20-Dec. 18 tournament in Qatar. Here's what you need to know about their squad:
RIYADH: Saudi Arabia have reached the final of the 2022 West Asian Football Federation U-23 Championship following a 2-1 comeback victory over Oman on Saturday.
ABU DHABI: The amateur division (white and blue belts) of the 14th Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship concluded on Saturday with the Kazakhstan National Team securing the lead in the best academy ranking.
NEWCASTLE: Eddie Howe is refusing to be drawn into the debate about whether European qualification beckons for his Newcastle United side.
Champions Bayern Munich eased past Schalke 04 2-0 to make sure of top spot going into the World Cup break as they hunt a record-extending 11th straight Bundesliga crown.

Bayern were without Sadio Mané — because of a fibula injury which has made the Senegal forward a World Cup doubt — while Canada left back Alphonso Davies has a muscle issue and Nagelsmann opted not to risk Thomas Müller after the experienced German had a run of minor injuries.
