Australian pacer Josh Hazlewood offered a fitness update amid the ongoing Adelaide Test against India, saying that his body is feeling good and he has "ticked off a few boxes". He also expressed hope to feature in the third Test of the series at Brisbane, starting from December 14 onwards. Hazlewood's presence is being missed by Australia, who have fielded pacer Scott Boland during the pink-ball Test against India at Adelaide. In the 42nd over of the Indian innings, Scott Boland bowled a length delivery just outside the off-stump and Nitish decided to try out an unorthodox approach against the ball. He assumed the stance quite quickly and scooped the ball over the slip fielders for a six. It was one of the longest parts of the ground and the shot even left Jasprit Bumrah amused on the non-striker end. During an analysis on Star Sports, Gavaskar was all praise for the youngster and said that his approach shows the "fearlessness of youth" even in Test cricket.

Rohit Sharma's return to the Indian team didn't go as planned, with the India captain only scoring three runs before being dismissed by Australia's Scott Boland. Rohit returned to the middle order after years of top-notch performances as an opener, primarily because of KL Rahul's superlative show at the top in Perth. However, not much went right for the India skipper who was dismissed LBW by Boland after spending only minutes on the pitch. Nitish Kumar Reddy was on the charge for India on Day 1 of the 1st Test against Australia in Adelaide. With India reeling at 141/8, Nitish took it upon himself to take his side close to the 200-run mark. He targetted Australia pacer Scott Boland late in the second session, and even reverse-ramped him for a six. On the second ball of the 42 over, Boland fired a delivery which would have gone on to hit the top of off. However, Reddy shuffled and reverse-ramped the ball over third man.

An epic incident unfolded on Day 1 of the day-night Test between India and Australia in Adelaide on Friday. India batter KL Rahul seemed to have gotten himself out for duck in the first session but a no-ball by Australia pacer Scott Boland granted him a lifeline. Rahul, who opened for India alongside Yashasvi Jaiwal, had already lost partner Yashasvi Jaiswal on the first ball of the match. Then, he seemed to have edged the ball into the hands of the wicket-keeper on the first ball bowled by Boland. But, the delivery was found to be a no-ball, keeping Rahul on the pitch.

Australia skipper Pat Cummins on Thursday put an end to the disharmony rumours in his side and said that there's a great feeling around the team. The notion of divide within the Australia camp began when seasoned pacer Josh Hazlewood, on Day 3 of the Perth Test, said, "You probably have to ask one of the batters that question. I'm sort of relaxing and trying to get a bit of physio and a bit of treatment, and I'm probably looking mostly towards the next Test and what plans we can do against these batters." Speaking at the pre-match press conference, Cummins said that the team is looking great and some of the commentators got that 100 per cent wrong. He added that the team don't make too much of these rumours.
