Toyota won the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the fifth year in a row on Sunday with New Zealand's Brendon Hartley taking the chequered flag to become a triple champion. Swiss driver Sebastien Buemi, now a four-times winner of the world's greatest endurance race, and Japanese first timer Ryo Hirakawa shared the overall victory in the number eight GR010 hybrid hypercar.
Toyota Gazoo Racing #8 team driver Ryo Hirakawa says he had many sleepless nights in the build up to a stunning 24 Hours of Le Mans victory. It was a memorable day for the trio which did not come without adversity though, as the sister car #7 came into issues during the twilight hours. Nevertheless, Hartley was able to take top spot, which he held onto until the finish line.

The Le Mans 24 hours is nearly upon us as the 90th edition of the greatest endurance race of all takes place this Saturday, and the no.8 Gazoo Racing Toyota Hypercar will lead the field away after Brendon Hartley secured pole.
Toyota set the pace in the opening free practice session of 24 Hours of Le Mans at the Circuit de la Sarthe. The defending champions with their GR010 Hybrid came in first with a time of 3:29.441, driven by Sebastien Buemi, Brendon Hartley and Ryo Hirakawa. Ad/> Just behind came the Glickenhaus SCG 007 C, driven by Ryan Briscoe, Franck Mailleux and Richard Westbrook with a time of 3:29.917.
Fenestraz finished second at the Kyushu track, taking advantage of an overcut strategy that left him behind only race winner Ryo Hirakawa at the chequered flag.
