Thirteen-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi became the youngest ever cricketer to be sold in an IPL auction on Monday, stealing the limelight from veteran fast bowlers Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Deepak Chahar.
Veteran pacer Mohammed Shami celebrated his Rs 10 crore deal with Sunrisers Hyderabad with a three-wicket burst that carried Bengal to an eight-wicket win over Hyderabad in a Group A match of the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy on Monday. Shami, who is playing his first white ball tournament after last year's 50-over World Cup, took three for 21 in 3.3 overs as Bengal bowled out Hyderabad for 137 in 18.3 overs. He received good support from Karan Lal and Shahbaz Ahmed who bagged two wickets apiece. India batter Tilak Varma made a 44-ball 57 (5x4, 1x6) but he could not guide his side to a bigger total. In reply, Bengal faced little trouble in scaling down the target in 17.5 overs.
After attracting a Rs 23.75 crore bid from Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL mega auction, Venkatesh Iyer made a small right step while producing an all-round effort to propel Madhya Pradesh to a 101-run win over Meghalaya in a Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy Group A match on Monday. Venkatesh got the third highest bid in the auction being held at Jeddah after Rishabh Pant (Rs 27 crore) and Shreyas Iyer (Rs 26.75 crore). Venkatesh first made a 17-ball 37 (4x6) which along with Rajat Patidar's 78 (36b, 6x4, 6x6) guided MP to 222 for five in 20 overs.

RCB won an intense bidding war with LSG and roped in the veteran pacer for a whopping Rs 10.75 crore. Indian pacers have been the top buys on Day 2. Akash Deep (LSG, Rs 8 crore), Deepak Chahar (MI, Rs 9.25 crore), Mukesh Kumar (DC, Rs 8 crore), Tushar Deshpande (RR, Rs 6.50 crore) all went for high prices. CSK was left stunned as they lost out in the race to buy two loyalists Tushar Deshpande and Deepak Chahar.
RCB Full Squad, IPL 2025: RCB enter Day 2 of the IPL 2025 Mega Auction with a purse of Rs 30.65, the most among all the franchises. After signing six players on Day 1, RCB signed all-rounder Krunal Pandya as their first player on Day 2 for a sum of Rs 5.75 crore. However, the franchise hogged all the limelights with acquisition of pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar for Rs 10.75 crore. England all-rounder Liam Livingstone became RCB's first signing at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction. He was bought for a sum of Rs 8.75 crore. Apart from Livingstone, RCB also bought the likes of Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Josh Hazlewood and Rasikh Dar. There were no shortages of big money deals as Shreyas Iyer was bought by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 Crore while Kolkata Knight Riders brought back Venkatesh Iyer for a staggering Rs 23.75 Crore. Day 2 will have more talents on offer with big names like Mayank Agarwal, Faf du Plessis, Glenn Phillips, Ajinkya Rahane, Prithvi Shaw in the fray. Some uncapped Indian talents are also expected to fetch surprising prices.

Salt, came in at Rs 2 crore. The Royal Challengers Bengaluru and MI were locked in a fierce bid, with the price escalating rapidly. After MI decided to opt out of the race, KKR entered the fray. RCB raised the bid to Rs 8 crore, and KKR came right at it with Rs 8.25 crore. The bid reached Rs 9 crore and eventually zipped past Rs 10 crore. Both tables pondered on their next move, and RCB eventually sealed the deal at Rs 11.5 crore.
