Jakati, who played just one game for the team after he was purchased in 2014, alleged that the franchise focuses more on just '2-3 players' and that is not the strategy that has worked out for them. In the past, the team has been criticised for its over-reliance on Virat Kohli and big overseas stars. However, De Villiers, who played for the franchise between 2011 and 2021, said that he received a text from Virat to not use the chant anymore. However, he said that he will join the celebrations when RCB finally clinch the IPL title - an achievement that has eluded them in the past 17 editions.

The BCCI will form the organising committee of the Women's ODI World Cup besides taking a call on the venues for the ICC event it will be hosting later this year at its Apex Council emergent meeting in Kolkata on March 22. The meeting will take place ahead of the IPL opener between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens. The BCCI last hosted a Women's ODI World Cup back in 2013. The exact schedule of the tournament slotted in October is yet to be worked out. According to the agenda accessed by PTI, there will be a "discussion on formation of LOC for Women's Cricket World Cup 2025 and discussion regarding venues for Women's Cricket World Cup 2025".

Patidar has succeeded Faf du Plessis as captain with the South African moving to Delhi Capitals this season. "This guy is going to lead you for a long time. He is going to do a great job. He has got everything that is required (to succeed)," Kohli said in his address to RCB's loyal fans at the team's Unbox event here on Monday.
