Delhi Capitals Told To Stop 'Chopping And Changing' Amid Stalled Title Charge

Former India cricketer Ajay Jadeja believes Delhi Capitals (DC) should look at stopping the chopping and changing of their top-order in IPL 2025, while adding that the pace at which KL Rahul and Faf du Plessis batted resulted in them losing out to Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). With five consecutive wins, DC had a phenomenal start to their IPL 2025 campaign. BCCI Hints At Expanded 94-Match IPL. Reports Makes Big Claim On New Teams

IPL chairman Arun Dhumal said the BCCI is seriously considering to expand the league to a 94-match home-and-away format from the next media rights cycle, which falls in 2028. The IPL currently has the 74-match format ever since Gujarat Titans (GT) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) entered the fray in 2022. "Definitely, that might be an opportunity. We've been discussing in ICC, we've been discussing in-house in BCCI. Given how the interest of the fan is changing with regard to bilateral and ICC events, in regard to franchise cricket and T20 cricket, we'll have to talk more seriously about it and see how we can create maximum value for the stakeholders of the game."

IPL 2025: Which Four Teams Are Likely To Make the Playoffs?

It has been a fascinating 18th edition of the Indian Premier League. The biggest talking point of the season has been the dominance of the perennial underachievers and the poor performance of most of the powerhouses. Royal Challengers Bengaluru, Delhi Capitals and Punjab Kings - who don't have even one IPL title between them - have set the stage on fire and been in the top cluster since the start of the tournament. Meanwhile, five-time winners - Chennai Super Kings, three-time champions - Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals - who have lifted the trophy on one occasion each - have been below par and struggled to build any sort of momentum in their campaign this season. And then there is Mumbai Indians - who had a disastrous start and looked down and out before staging one of the most remarkable turnarounds in IPL history!
