Virat, who reached the United States late, was rested for the match, but the same can't be said about the security team assigned to the marquee batter. In a video that has emerged on social media, Kohli could be seen surrounded by heavy police force and security officials as he arrived at the ground in Nassau County where India took on the Bangla Tigers in the warm-up game.

India showcased a dominating performance against Bangladesh in their only warm-up game for the T20 World Cup 2024 on Saturday in New York. Batting first, India posted a whopping total of 182/5 in 20 overs with Rishabh Pant scoring 53 off 32 balls. Later, Arshdeep Singh and Shivam Dube bowled brilliant spells as India restricted Bangladesh to 122/9 and won the match by 60 runs. This warm-up game turned out to be a great practice for India before the beginning of the group stage. But, Virat Kohli wasn't a part of the squad for the game.

Star wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant made his India return with a statement knock against Bangladesh in their T20 World Cup warm-up game here on Saturday. Pant top-scored for India as he got himself retired out after making 53 runs off 32 balls. The 26-year-old slammed four sixes and as many 4s to steer India to 182/5 in 20 overs after Rohit Sharma opted to bat. India's innings got off to a disastrous start as Sanju Samson, promoted as an opener, failed to impress, scoring a solitary run.
