Veteran leg-spinner Piyush Chawla, who last played an international match in December 2012, has picked his all-time India ODI XI. While speaking to Shubhankar Mishra on the latter's podcast, Chawla, who hasn't played for India in over a decade, picked legendary wicketkeeper-batter MS Dhoni as the captain of the team. At the top of the order, Chawla picked legendary batter Sachin Tendulkar and current India captain Rohit Sharma as openers. At no.3, the 35-year-old made a surprise pick in the form of Virender Sehwag, and demoted Virat Kohli to no. 4.

India's two-match Test series against Bangladesh is set to kick off on November 19. The series will also see Rishabh Pant making his comeback to Test cricket as the player missed the format since his horrible car crash in December 2022. While Pant will be the cynosure of all eyes, it will also be interesting to see if the Indian cricket team shows more trust on KL Rahul's experience or it goes with a young Sarfaraz Khan, who has piled lots of runs in the past few years. Both of them have been named in the squad for the first Test against Bangladesh.

With the first Test against Bangladesh scheduled here from September 19, the entire squad, including Rohit and batting stalwart Virat Kohli, assembled at the MA Chidambaram Stadium with new bowling coach, South African great Morne Morkel, and batting coach Vikram Rathour also in attendance.

India skipper Rohit Sharma and batting stalwart Virat Kohli arrived here for the first Test against Bangladesh, scheduled to commence on September 19. Wearing a yellow jersey, Rohit was seen emerging from the airport escorted by security personnel, in a PTI Video on Thursday night, while Kohli came directly to Chennai from London in an early-morning flight. The likes of India pace spearhead Jasprit Bumrah, KL Rahul and wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant had earlier reached the city on Thursday.

For the unversed, Rahul only lost his place to Sarfaraz due to an injury. While analysing the squad, former India batter Aakash Chopra suggested that Rahul will have a point to prove.
