MS Dhoni confirms he will play IPL next year to bid farewell to CSK fans

Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Friday said he will "definitely" play in the IPL next year as not doing so would be "unfair" to the city after which the Chennai Super Kings is named and which treats him like its own. With this, the 40-year-old Dhoni put to rest speculations around his participation in the lucrative league next season. "Definitely, I will play next year. It would be unfair not to say thank you to Chennai, to not play in Chennai. It won't be nice to the CSK fans," Dhoni said at the toss for CSK's final match of the ongoing season, against Rajasthan Royals.

Andrew Symonds' performances always changed the course of the game

Symonds was to that ridiculously talented Australian cricket team in the 2000s. The first is from an ODI in Melbourne vs West Indies in 2001. His victim was Laurie Williams, who tragically also died in a car crash, like Symonds did in Townsville, Queensland late on Saturday. Williams died in Jamaica in 2002, aged 33. Symonds was 46. In the video, Williams drives Nathan Bracken towards long-on and starts running. But Symonds swoops in from mid-wicket, stops the ball, spins while still parked on his buttocks, and coolly throws down the stumps at the striker's end. All this happens in about one-and-a-half seconds.

Watch: CSK Star Devon Conway's Controversial LBW Dismissal vs Mumbai Indians In IPL 2022 Match

Any hope of Chennai Super Kings reaching the IPL 2022 playoffs ended following their loss to bottom-placed Mumbai Indians at the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday night. MS Dhoni's team had a tough day in the office in Mumbai and nothing went in their favour from the toss itself. After losing the toss, and being put into bat, CSK lost five wickets in the powerplay overs. It all started with Devon Conway's dissmisal on the second ball of the match. The dismissal created a massive social media storm as many believed that the ball would have gone on to miss the stumps. On a normal day, the batter could have called upon the DRS and the correct decision would have been made. However, it was anything but a normal day for CSK.
