Cuando estoy en EE UU, soy norteamericana. Tengo doble identidad. Y estas dos mitades hacen lo que soy a día de hoy", dice a Olympics.com. Y explica: «Poder inspirar a millones de jóvenes allá donde nació mi madre es una ocasión única de contribuir a promover el deporte que amo», escribió Eileen Gu en Instagram para justificar su cambio de nacionalidad.
