Gaikwad shared the video of his batting practice on his Instagram story. Gaikwad will lead Team India in their first-ever campaign at the upcoming Hangzhou Asian Games. Asian Games will take place in China this year from September 23 to October 8, 2023. Cricket will be featured in the multi-sport event.

In the latest ODI rankings released by the ICC after the first ODI between Pakistan and Afghanistan, Gill has now got 743 rating points and is placed as India's top-ranked batter. Comeback man Bumrah, India's captain for Ireland series, moved up seven places to reach the 84th position, Bishnoi has jumped 17 spots to reach 65th.

The duo of Gaikwad and Dube collided while going for the catch, however, the former managed to hang onto the ball despite that. This game turned out to be really special for batter Rinku Singh as he bagged away the Player of the Match award in his maiden batting stint.
