"Babar Azam Sells Cricket For Pakistan, Sponsors Are...": Ramiz Raja On Star Batter's Axing

Babar Azam's removal from Pakistan's Test squad for the second match against England sent shockwaves across the cricketing fraternity. The superstar batter paid the price of a string of inconsistent performances as the newly constituted Pakistan Cricket Board national selection committee sprung into action. Pakistan great Ramiz Raja, however, isn't impressed with the selectors' decision, calling it a' knee jerk reaction'. For Ramiz, Babar's absence from the team makes no sense as he isn't just an important player for the team but also a brand which brings Pakistan cricket money.

"No Tantrums": Ramiz Raja Names India Star Who 'Hasn't Been Celebrated As Much'

Former Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) president Ramiz Raja said that Indian veteran Ravichandran Ashwin has not been celebrated enough as an all-rounder, calling him a "no-nonsense cricketer". Ramiz's remarks come after the all-rounder's fine performance during the two-match series against Bangladesh at home. He was given the 'Player of the Series' award for scoring 114 runs, including a counter-attacking century in the first Test at his home in Chennai and taking 11 wickets.

"India Is The Strongest Team...": Ex-Pakistan Captain's Open Admission After Win Over Bangladesh

Former Pakistan cricketer Ramiz Raja opened up on Ravichandran Ashwin's performance in the India-Bangladesh Test series and said that the 38-year-old has not received the kind of status as an all-rounder that he deserves. In the recently concluded two-match Test series, Ashwin picked 11 wickets; he was also the highest wicket-taker along with Jasprit Bumrah. With the bat, he scored 114 runs at a strike rate of 83.21 in the two-match series. Ashwin was also named the 'Player of the Series' following his stunning display against the visitors.

'If India Don't Honour ICC Commitments...": Ex-Pakistan Star's Massive Warning

Indian cricket team's participation in the Champions Trophy 2025 - to be held in Pakistan - remains in doubt with the BCCI not making any official announcement. The two sides have not played a single bilateral series against each other in almost a decade and the only time they face off is during international and continental competitions. However, Pakistan did travel to India for the 2023 ODI World Cup but India have not take any final decision. While there have been some reports of the tournament adapting a hybrid format, the ICC have no said anything on those lines and Pakistan have reportedly planned India's matches to be held in Lahore. Former Pakistan skipper Moin Khan fired a warning for India and during an interview with Cricket Pakistan, he said that the BCCI should honour ICC commitments.

"Demoralised A Young Player": Moin Khan Slams Pakistan Legend For Azam Khan's Axing

Former Pakistan captain Moin Khan has heavily criticized legendary skipper Ramiz Raja for the way his son Azam Khan was treated. Wicketkeeper-batter Azam's career has been maligned by body-shaming outside the cricketing arena, while he himself has faced difficulties in keeping his spot in the team due to his poor performances. In 14 T20I matches since making his debut in July 2021, Azam has scored only 88 runs at an average of 8.80. His best score is 30 not out.

Pakistan Cricket Board Completes Deal To Rename Lahore's Gaddafi Stadium

The Pakistan Cricket Board has completed a deal worth PKR 1 billion with a private bank to sell the naming rights of the Gaddafi Stadium here for a period of five years. The PCB is yet to officially announce the deal but insiders said it has been completed and like the National Stadium in Karachi, the Gaddafi Stadium will now also be named after the bank. “The deal is for one billion rupees while the board had sold naming rights for the Karachi stadium for 450 million dollars,” one insider said.

'It Seems Entire Nation Has A Problem With Babar Azam's Form': Ex-PCB Chief

The Pakistan cricket team's embarrassing defeat in the first Test of the series against Bangladesh sent shockwaves across the country, with questions being raised both on the level of the current national team and the pool of players that is being created through domestic cricket. While the entire set of players received criticism from fans and former cricketers, there was a special focus on Babar Azam, with the batter's poor performance being an intense topic of chatter again. However, Pakistan legend Ramiz Raja isn't pleased to see Babar being singled out.

Behind Pakistan's Loss To Bangladesh, Ramiz Raja's Stunning 'India Factor'

The Pakistan men's cricket team suffered arguably its worst defeat ever in the history of Test cricket, going down by 10 wickets against Bangladesh in their own home. The embarrassing loss put Shan Masood and his team under the spotlight, with questions being raised by both fans and former cricketers. Ramiz Raja, one of the finest batters to play for Pakistan, painted a unique 'India Angle' behind the team's defeat against the Bangla Tigers, saying it all started when the Indians bashed Pakistani bowlers in the Asia Cup.
