India seamer Jasprit Bumrah has been rested for the fourth test against England, while wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul remains out due to fitness issues, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said on Tuesday.

It has been a tough campaign for Rohit Sharma till now as the Indian cricket team skipper has struggled to score runs during the ongoing Test series against England. Rohit scored 24 and 39 in the first Test match where he got starts on both occasions but failed to convert them into big knocks. The numbers were worse in Visakhapatnam where he could manage to score 14 and 13 in the two innings. The India skipper has looked a bit hesitant in deciding how to approach his innings in Test cricket and according to a report by Indian Express, Rohit had a somewhat tough time during practice ahead of the third Test.
An injury-hit India could well go into the third Test against England with two debutants in domestic run-machine Sarfaraz Khan and hard-hitting keeper-batter Dhruv Chand Jurel on a track that will be quite similar to the first two Test matches. Last match's centurion Shubman Gill however did not attend the optional training on Tuesday. It must be noted that Gill had hurt his right index finger while fielding in the second Test in Visakhapatnam. He didn't field during the England second innings and also said that the injury isn't too serious.
Former India cricketer Aakash Chopra opened up on Virat Kohli missing the ongoing Test series against England and said that everyone should "respect his privacy." While speaking to Jio Cinema, Chopra said that no one told the reasons why the former India skipper will be missing the entire Test series against England. "He has requested not to be considered for the whole series, no one has told us the reasons for which he sought this leave, and we must respect his privacy," Chopra said.
