Team India's flight to West Indies costs BCCI Rs 3.5 crore

BCCI spent around Rs 3.5 crore on booking a chartered flight for Team India to reach the West Indies - where they'll play three ODIs and five T20Is against the hosts - from England, a source has revealed to TOI. "The BCCI spent Rs 3.5 crore on the chartered flight which took Team India from Manchester on Tuesday afternoon to Port of Spain (the capital of Trinidad and Tobago) by 11.30 pm IST. The reason a chartered flight was booked for the team was not Covid-19. It's difficult to book so many tickets in a commercial flight-the Indian contingent includes 16 players and members of the support staff, including head coach Rahul Dravid. There are players' wives who have travelled to the Caribbean too," the source said on Wednesday.

Now he will get a good break and will come back all recharged and hopefully will do phenomenally well. You can never rule out a player of his calibre," Karthik said on the sidelines of a training session with the budding cricketers at the PS Sports Excellence Arena here on Monday. Kohli has been rested for the West Indies tour which will begin on July 22.

India vs England, 3rd ODI: Familiar batting woes for Team India at venue of 'painful memories'

Three years after a painful exit from the World Cup, India return to Old Trafford with same set of batting worries in deciding ODI vs EnglandStung by England's raging comeback at Lord's, India return to Old Trafford in Manchester for the blockbuster decider of the ODI series on Sunday. For India, this is a venue which holds painful memories of their 2019 World Cup semifinal defeat to New Zealand in their previous outing here. Much water has flowed under the bridge since that 18-run loss to the Kiwis. The captaincy baton has been passed on to Rohit Sharma, with Virat Kohli, who was then ruling the batting charts, now in such a bad slump that his place in the team itself is under the scanner.

"Pata Nahi Kya Hai...": Rahul Dravid's Epic Reply On England's 'Bazball' Brand Of Cricket Post Edgbaston Loss

The 'Bazball' remained a quite hot topic during India's rescheduled fifth Test match against England. While some used it to mock the England national cricket team on Day 2 of the match, the same topic was used by the fans of England cricket as a reply to the critics later. Notably, England were 84/5 at Stumps on Day 2 but they eventually registered a dominating seven-wicket win over India to level the series 2-2. Their attacking brand of cricket helped them beat the Jasprit Bumrah-led side in the game.

"Keeps Increasing Our Heartbeats With Certain Shots": Rahul Dravid On Rishabh Pant

While Rishabh Pant has not quite set the stage ablaze with his performances for India in limited-overs formats yet, there is no question that he can turn a match on its head in Test cricket. Even as India went down to England in the rescheduled fifth Test at Edgbaston, Rishabh Pant's whirlwind 146 in India's first innings had set the platform for the visitors to hold the advantage for long parts of the match. In the end, though, England chased down 378 - their highest chase in Tests - with relative ease as they continued with their own new aggressive brand of cricket.
