'I'm part of that level' - Carlos Alcaraz is confident he will compete with world's best after losing to Rafael Nadal
Carlos Alcaraz believes he is up there with the world's best players after falling to the 21-time Grand Slam winner Rafael Nadal in three sets in his maiden Indian Wells semi-final. The 18-year-old has been widely tipped by fellow players and coaches to become a multiple Grand Slam winner in the future, but he was unable to overcome his childhood idol in a three hour and 12 minute battle in the California desert on Saturday. Ad/> Alcaraz, who lost the match 6-4 4-6 6-3, admitted he was slightly nervous playing against his 35-year-old compatriot in only the pair's second meeting on the ATP tour, but feels he will compete with the world's best at the biggest tournaments this year.
