LONDON — Taylor Fritz turned things around after dropping the opening two sets to defeat two-time Grand Slam finalist Alexander Zverev 4-6, 6-7 (4), 6-4, 7-6 (3), 6-3 on Monday and reach the Wimbledon quarterfinals.
Wimbledon is the third tournament on the Grand Slam tennis circuit every year, taking place after the Australian Open and French Open but before the US Open. First held in 1877, Wimbledon takes place annually at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in London, England.

Title rivals Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz reached the Wimbledon third round on Wednesday as Japanese superstar Naomi Osaka was demolished on her return to Centre Court after a five-year absence. Australian Open champion Sinner defeated Italian Davis Cup teammate Matteo Berrettini 7-6 (7/3), 7-6 (7/4), 2-6, 7-6 (7/4) in a three-hour 42-minute duel. Berrettini, the 2021 runner-up, fired 65 winners, including 28 aces, past the top seed and carved out four breaks of serve to two.

Alexander Zverev placed himself amongst the serious contenders for the Wimbledon title on Saturday, insisting that this year's showpiece "is the most open in 20 years". The world number four has never got past the last 16 at the All England Club. However with Roger Federer retired, Rafael Nadal resting and both Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray carrying injuries, the 27-year-old predicts a power vacuum in south-west London. "I think this is the most open Wimbledon Championship that we maybe had in 20 years in terms of favourites, in terms of potential winners," said Zverev.
