The 36-year-old Spaniard, who has lost only three times at Roland Garros since his debut in 2005, now has two more majors to his name than Swiss Roger Federer and world number one Novak Djokovic of Serbia.
Rafael Nadal on Sunday beat Casper Ruud 6-3, 6-3, 6-0 in the French Open 2022 men's singles final at Court Philippe-Chatrier to win his record-extending 22nd Grand Slam title. It was also his 14th French Open title. Despite Ruud breaking him a couple of times, Nadal looked comfortable throughout and won the match in under three hours. With his triumph over Ruud, he became the oldest player to win the French Open. Nadal now has two Grand Slam titles more than Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic, who both have 20 each.
