Alexander Zverev is set to begin rehab on his injured ankle next week and hopes to be fit enough to challenge for the US Open title later this year.
Novak Djokovic feels he can get even better as the tournament progresses after his dominant win over Thanasi Kokkinakis in the second round. Djokovic was far from his best in his opening round match against Soonwoo Kwon on Monday, dropping the second set to the South Korean.
Frenchman Humbert turned up for the match without any racquets and struggled in the first set but his high-risk approach started to pay off as the ratio of winners to unforced errors moved in his favour and he impressively took the next two.

Alexander Zverev is due to start rehab on his injured ankle next week, according to brother Mischa. Zverev was playing arguably the best tennis of his life against Rafael Nadal in the French Open semi-finals on June 3, before being cruelly cut down by a fall which tore his ankle ligaments and caused his retirement from the match. Ad/> Despite that setback, Mischa revealed that his brother has been putting in a daily routine of «sleep, breakfast, training, lunch, training» as he tries to bounce back from that disappointment, with Zverev set to finally begin rehab on his ankle shortly, having had to keep it in a cast since the injury.
