En segunda ronda, podría medirse con Stanislas Wawrinka, y en octavos con Auger-Aliassime (9º del mundo), primer Top 10 antes de unos hipotéticos cuartos con Novak Djokovic, vigente campeón, y unas semifinales frente a Carlos Alcaraz o Alexander Zverev. «En términos de tenis, por supuesto que la parte superior del cuadro ves los nombres y es muy difícil. Pero estamos en un Grand Slam, y nunca se sabe lo que puede pasar»,, respecto a su posible camino en el torneo.
