India Defeat Bangladesh By 56 Runs Via D/L Method, Lead Series 4-0

India continued their dominant run against Bangladesh with a 56-run win via Duckworth-Lewis method in the rain curtailed fourth women's T20 on Monday. A late start and then over an hour-long delay due to persistent rain and hail meant that the contest had to be shortened. Harmanpreet Kaur (38) and Richa Ghosh (24) shared a 44-run stand to help India post 122 for 6 against Bangladesh after persistent rain reduced the contest to 14 overs a side. The hosts had to chase 125 in 14 overs under the DLS method to secure their first win of the series. But the batters, barring opener Dilara Akter (21), Rubya Haider (13) and Shorifa Khatun (11 not out), failed to reach double digits as they kept losing wicket in clusters.

Harmanpreet Kaur, Richa Ghosh Surge In ICC Women's T20I Rankings

India stars surged in the ICC Women's T20I rankings with their all-round show which saw them complete a series whitewash over Bangladesh. India are enjoying success just months before this year's ICC Women's T20 World Cup as they registered a hard-fought whitewash of Bangladesh in the five-match series. ICC on Tuesday issued the latest women's T20I rankings with skipper Harmanpreet Kaur rising three places to 13th in the T20I batters list following her 105 runs for the series. Her compatriot Richa Ghosh moved up two places to 23rd following her unbeaten knock of 28* in the final match of the series.

Radha Yadav, Richa Ghosh Set Up India Women's 21-Run Win, 5-0 T20I Series Sweep Over Bangladesh

Radha Yadav (3/24) ran through Bangladesh's top-order after Richa Ghosh's quickfire unbeaten 28 off 17 balls, setting up India's 21-run win in the fifth T20I and a 5-0 series sweep at Sylhet, Bangladesh on Thursday. Chasing a huge 157-run target, Bangladesh began promisingly but collapsed against the left-arm spinner Yadav. Despite the rearguard act by Ritu Moni (37, 33b, 4x4) and Shorifa Khatun (28 not out, 21b, 3x4s), the hosts finished at 136 for six in 20 overs. All-rounder Moni and Shorifa put on a resolute stand of 57 runs for the sixth wicket to lead the fightback and put India in pressure, but the visitors prevailed eventually.

Delhi Capitals skipper Meg Lanning won the toss and elected to bat first in the final of the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday. The second edition of WPL will see a new champion as both the teams have not won a title so far. In the 2024 edition, Delhi and Bangalore have faced each other twice before the showdown in the final and Delhi won both the matches. "We will bat tonight, feel that's the best chance to win the game. The pitch looks good and we'll have to bat well. What has happened before is irrelevant, we're up against a great team and we need to play well. We're going with the same team," DC skipper Lanning said after winning the toss.
