Sunil Narine produced a stunning display of batting to slam a half-century in just 21 deliveries for Kolkata Knight Riders during their IPL 2024 match against Delhi Capitals on Wednesday. The all-rounder, who was once again sent to open the batting with Phil Salt, looked in sublime touch as he completely dismantled the DC bowling attack. Narine's best over came against Ishant Sharma where he ended up scoring 26 runs with a barrage of boundaries as KKR scored 88 runs in the powerplay. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) vice-captain Nitish Rana is hopeful that star batter Shreyas Iyer can shrug off his injury concern and lead the franchise in IPL 2024. Iyer, who missed IPL 2023 due to injury, arrived at the KKR camp carrying a back issue. There has been rumours that Iyer might miss the first few games, with Rana set to lead KKR. Earlier in the month, KKR named Phil Salt as Jason's replacement for the upcoming season of the IPL 2024. With star overseas players like Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Phil Salt, Andre Russell, Sunil Narine and Mitchell Starc available along with a strong Indian core in Nitish Rana, skipper Shreyas Iyer, Rinku Singh, Venkatesh Iyer and Varun Charkavarthy, KKR will be aiming to do well in IPL 2024.
England batter Jason Roy and Pakistan all-rounder Iftikhar Ahmed were involved in an ugly spat during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans on Tuesday. The incident took place during the second ball of the third over of Gladiators' run-chase after David Willey trapped Roy LBW.
