India Tour Is Going To Be Valuable Due To T20 World Cup: Heather Knight

The T20 series in India gain significance as it will show how the young visiting players excel in conditions which will be similar to what the team will experience in Bangladesh during next year's T20 World Cup, said England women's skipper Heather Knight. India and England are set to face off in a three-match T20 series, starting here on Wednesday. "I learned a lot about my game playing in Indian conditions, it really tests you as a cricketer, your skill level and how you do with the noise and the heat," Knight told reporters ahead of England's training session on Tuesday. "It is a really good place to accelerate development, to see how our young players cope with it. We have got a T20 World Cup in Bangladesh later on in the year (2024) so this tour is going to be valuable in terms of having similar conditions." The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be hosted by Bangladesh between September and October in 2024.

"Behuda Sawaal": Ex-India Star Lashes Out At Fan Comparing Travis Head With Virender Sehwag

Travis Head had a great role in Australia beating India in the ODI Cricket World Cup final. The star opener scored 137 off 120 balls as Australia chased down a 241-run target against India in just 43 overs. The win gave Australia their sixth ODI Cricket World Cup title. Travis Head finished the tournament with 329 runs in six matches and contributed with the ball too. However, former Indian cricket team star Ajay Jadeja was not amused when a fan during a YouTube live asked him whether Travis Head was a replica of Virender Sehwag.

Sarfaraz Ahmed Spills Out Pakistan's Plan To Spoil David Warner's Farewell Test Series

Pakistan's experienced wicketkeeper-batter Sarfaraz Ahmed laid out the team's plans to ruin Australia's star batter David Warner's farewell Test series. The Men in Green are currently in Canberra to play a 4-day game against the Australian PM XI ahead of the series, which will be played on December 9. After this game, Pakistan will face Australia in the first Test on December 14 in Perth, a game for which Warner has been named in the squad. Ahead of the clash, Sarfaraz stated the team's intentions to spoil Warner's special day and said, as quoted from Geo News, "We will try to get him out as soon as we can; we will try not to let him get off to a good start." The right-handed batter talked about the quality of the Kangaroos and made a vow that the team would play their best cricket.

India vs Australia: Five Players Who Boosted Their T20 World Cup 2024 Prospects

Though the recently-concluded T20I series between India and Australia lacked star power, with several seniors like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Mitchell Starc, David Warner, Steve Smith giving it a miss, the bilateral series proved to be of great value for several fringe players, serving as an audition for the ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in West Indies and USA next year.

Pat Cummins 'Most Inspirational Player In Team': Australia Great Hails World Cup-Winning Skipper

Former Australian batter Ian Chappell lauded skipper Pat Cummins for his captaincy, saying that the Aussie pacers' bowling, leadership and fearlessness while talking about off-the-field issues make him the right choice for captaincy and any cricketer not inspired by him "is in the wrong game". Pat Cummins is indeed having a time of his life as Australia's captain. After being appointed as ODI skipper following Aaron Finch's retirement and serving as Test captain, Cummins has led Australia to the ICC World Test Championship title, retention of the Ashes urn against England and record-extending sixth ICC Cricket World Cup title in a matter of months.

According to Cricbuzz, a total of 1,166 players have put their name up for the auction, but Archer isn't one of them. Archer was released by Mumbai Indians last month ahead of the auction, mainly because of his injury concerns.
