Senior India opener KL Rahul has undergone a successful surgery for sports hernia in Germany and is expected to be out of competitive cricket for another couple of months. Rahul, who was forced to opt out of the home T20I series against South Africa earlier this month, has over the years had recurrent lower abdominal related fitness issues, including groin strains and hamstring injuries. "It's been a tough couple of weeks but the surgery was successful. I'm healing and recovering well. My road to recovery has begun. Thank you for your messages and prayers. BCCI Ties Up With Australian Body To Create Uniform Training System

In its bid to create uniformity in training system across ranks, the BCCI has joined hands with Australian Strength & Conditioning Association (ASCA) to create a pool of world class trainers (S&C coaches) in the country. Recently, the BCCI has formed its Sports Science section at the National Cricket Academy, which is being headed by former national team head physio Dr Nitin Patel. They have now come up with the concept of creating a programme that will "increase the knowledge base of fitness trainers across all levels in BCCI."
