It is India's fourth quota place with women boxers Nikhat Zareen (50kg), Preet Pawar (54kg) and Lovlina Borgohain (75kg) having already secured their passage to Paris. The 71kg weight class had five quotas on offer. Dev, who has been dominant all tournament, was off to a flyer, landing sharp, accurate punches. The Indian was more composed and used his punches judiciously.

Two-time World Champion Nikhat Zareen clinched the Elorda Cup as she defeated Zhazira Urakbayeva of Kazakhstan 5:0 by unanimous decision in the Women's 52 kg category. Besides Nikhat, Minakshi (48kg), Anamika (50kg) and Manisha (60kg) also made their way into the finals comfortably. Minakshi and Manisha put up similar dominating displays in their semi-finals to grab a 5-0 unanimous victory against Kazakh boxers Gulnaz Buribayeva and Tangatar Assem respectively. Anamika, on the other hand, was adjudged victorious after her opponent Kazakhstan's Gulnar Turapbay was disqualified for excessive holding after three warnings.

Jaismine To Compete In Olympic Qualifiers' 57kg Category After Parveen's Suspension

Jaismine Lamboria will compete in the second Olympic boxing qualifiers in Thailand beginning May 24 after India was forced to surrender the women's 57kg category quota for the Paris Games owing to holder Parveen Hooda's international suspension for three whereabout failures in 12 months. Hooda was handed a 22-month suspension by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) on Friday.
