Australia would have been extremely anxious after Pakistan reached 73 for no loss in pursuit of a 351-run target at stumps on Day 4 of the third and final Test at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore. However, the visitors fought back well on Day 5 on Friday to put themselves back in contention. Cameron Green struck early to dismiss Abdullah Shafique in the fourth over of the day on his overnight score of 27. Nathan Lyon and Pat Cummins then took over to rattle the Pakistanis.

Pakistan resumed their second innings on day 5 of the third Test against Australia at the score of 73 for no loss, chasing a target of 351 runs for victory. The hosts soon lost Abdullah Shafique for 27 and that brought the experienced Azhar Ali to the middle. Ahar looked his composed self at the crease, until he was sent back at the score of 17 in what looked like an excellent review taken by the Australian team.

Aiming to increase their lead, Australia face Pakistan on Day 4 of the ongoing third Test match at Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore, on Thursday. Australia are currently batting and trying to build some momentum. After a gritty fight by Abdullah Shafique (81) and Azhar Ali (78), Babar Azam was left as the lone warrior as Australia pacers took centre-stage on Day 3.
