Almost on a regular basis, terrific pacers emerge from Pakistan. Despite their young age, the Pakistan team management has not shied away from giving teenagers a chance at the senior level. However, Rajapaksa was dropped when he was batting on 54. On the last ball of the penultimate over, Pakistan players Shadab Khan and Asif Ali collided at deep midwicket after Rajapaksa tried to hit Mohammad Hasnain's delivery for a six.

Pakistan drop under-performing Hasan Ali for Netherlands tour, T20 Asia Cup

Pakistan on Wednesday dropped under-performing fast bowler Hasan Ali for the tour of the Netherlands and the Asia Cup later this month. The 28-year-old was player of the tournament in Pakistan's Champions Trophy win in 2017. But Hasan took just three wickets in two Tests in Sri Lanka last month, claimed only three wickets for 222 runs in his last three one-day internationals and went wicket-less in two of his last three Twenty20 internationals. Chief selector Mohammad Waseem said Hasan needed a break. "Hasan has been given a break from international cricket and he has been replaced by Naseem Shah," Waseem said in a Pakistan Cricket Board statement.

"Proving His Stature": Pakistan Great On Babar Azam Reaching Historic Milestone

Babar Azam's rise in world cricket continues at a great pace. On the second day of the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle on Sunday, Azam made a defiant 119 to thwart a Sri Lankan spin attack led by Prabath Jayasuriya. Azam single-handedly took the tourists to just four runs short of Sri Lanka's 222 as he put on a 70-run tenth-wicket stand with Naseem Shah, who made five not out from 52 balls, in Galle. Sri Lanka were 36 for one at stumps after skipper Dimuth Karunaratne fell lbw to left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz, for 16.
