Watch: Flight Carrying T20 World Cup-Winning Team India Receives 'Water Salute'
The special flight carrying the T20 World Cup 2024-winning Indian cricket team from New Delhi to Mumbai received a special water salute after landing at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport on Thursday. The special tribute was organised by the airport staff in honour of the team. The Rohit Sharma-led side defeated South Africa in the final to clinch the T20 World Cup 2024 title - their first T20I World Cup title after 17 years. The water salute is generally done as a show of respect to the airplane as well as its crew and passengers. The India cricketers landed in New Delhi early in the morning on Thursday and then met Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Mumbai, they are expected to take part in a victory parade which will end in a ceremony that will happen at the Wankhede Stadium.
