Several reports have claimed that the BCCI selectors will meet Team India captain Rohit Sharma and coach Rahul Dravid to decide on the final squad for the Asia Cup, which begins on August 30. India's first match is against arch-rivals Pakistan on September 2 in Sri Lanka. India take on West Indies in a two-match Test series, starting later on Wednesday in Dominica.

It was an intense first day at the World Test Championship final at The Oval on Wednesday. After India opted to bowl against the Pat Cummins-led team, the Rohit Sharma-led side's pacers came out all guns blazing. Mohammed Siraj, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Shami took wickets. However, Australia too fought well. Travis Head scored a ton while Steve Smith batted with skill as Australia gained the upper-hand in the match. One aspect of Smith's batting were his facial expressions. He gave unique expressions while facing good deliveries from Shami and Co.

The World Test Championship final between India and Australia kicked off at the Oval, London on Wednesday. India skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first against the Pat Cummins-led side. The Rahul Dravid-coached team went in with a four-pronged pace attack and preferred Ravindra Jadeja over seasoned off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin as the lone spinner. Mohammed Siraj dismissed Usman Khawaja to give India a really good start before David Warner and Marnus Labuschagne stitched 69 runs for the second wicket for Australia. Shardul Thakur got better of Warner and then Mohammed Shami produced a ripper to get rid of Labuschagne.
