The 2023 World Cup will be a big affair for the Rohit Sharma-led Indian cricket team. Having not won an ICC title since the 2013 Champions Trophy under Dhoni, hosts India would be eager to end that drought. India head coach Rahul Dravid has already said that they have narrowed down to 17-18 players - amongst whom the World Cup squad is likely to be picked up. "We've narrowed it down to 17-18 players, we have a few guys who are recovering from injuries and might come into the mix, depending on the time frame of their recoveries," Dravid said in March.
With four wins in their last five outings, Delhi Capitals now look to spoil the party for the MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings when both teams face off in their IPL 2023 match on Wednesday. Last time out, DC outclassed Royal Challengers Bangalore to keep their playoff chances alive. The David Warner-led side will need to perform very well if they aim to surprise CSK in their den, which is easier said than done. It is highly unlikely that the management will make any changes to the side.
Delhi Capitals registered their third win of IPL 2023 on Saturday after they comfortably defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore by seven wickets. Opting to bat first, RCB posted a huge total of 181/4 in 20 overs with Virat Kohli and Mahipal Lomror smashing 55 and 54 runs respectively. Later, DC ended up chasing the target with 20 balls to spare after Phil Salt played a brilliant knock of 87 off 45 balls. Apart from such a high-scoring action, the fans also witnessed a heated moment where RCB pacer Mohammed Siraj lost his cool at Salt during DC's chase.
After the ugly post-match scenes from the Lucknow Super Giants vs Royal Challengers Bangalore match in the Indian Premier League 2023, some refreshing moments emerged from the second match on Saturday. Though Virat Kohli's homecoming was spoiled by Delhi Capitals' 7-wicket victory, the RCB stalwart was in a jolly mood as he spoke to Ishant Sharma and a few other DC players after the game. The bond that Virat and Ishant share goes back years, and their camaraderie was quite visible at the Arun Jaitley Stadium after the match.
England's Phil Salt hit a blazing 87 to power Delhi Capitals to a thumping seven-wicket victory over Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Indian Premier League on Saturday and ruin superstar Virat Kohli's return to his home city.
Virat Kohli returned to his hometown ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) match between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium. Ahead of the game, Kohli caught up with his childhood coach, Rajkumar Sharma, and touched his feet. A video of the same has been doing rounds on social media. "A wholesome meet & greet. @imVkohli catches up with his childhood coach," the video was captioned by IPL on their official Twitter handle.
