The home where Geno Auriemma built a college hoops dynasty is set to host history, and the legends came home to see it.
It says everything about UConn's Geno Auriemma that a list of his greatest victories could include only national championship games. He has won 11 NCAA titles, more than any other Division I women's or men's basketball coach.
Winning one game is hard. What about winning 900 of them? Only a few coaches in the history of college basketball — men's or women's — have eclipsed the 900-win total. Pat Summitt was the first to do it.

For USA Basketball, the road to the Paris Olympics has started with a win.
ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported last week that the Los Angeles Lakers had targeted UConn's Dan Hurley as their next head coach, two months after he'd led the Huskies to their second consecutive national title and sixth championship in 25 years. Twenty years ago, the Lakers made a similar pitch to Mike Krzyzewski, who rejected the offer to remain at Duke. The franchise received the same answer from Hurley on Monday.
Dan Hurley became the new face of men's college basketball when he and his UConn Huskies wrapped up a second consecutive national title this past April, catapulting the head coach into company with Mike Krzyzewski and Billy Donovan as the only men's college coaches to win back-to-back titles in the last 40 years. Hurley has images of John Wooden around his office, and looks to the basketball legend as an inspiration, wanting to join him as the only other men's college hoops coach to win three consecutive national titles.
