Pakistan leg-spinner Yasir Shah on Monday bamboozled Sri Lanka batter Kusal Mendis with a peach of a delivery. In the ongoing first Test match between Pakistan and Sri Lanka at the Galle International Stadium, the spinner pitched the ball outside leg stump to Mendis and made it turn from there to hit the off stump. The delivery from Yasir was similar to the "Ball of the Century" bowled by the late great Shane Warne, Australia's legendary leg-spinner, during the early 1990s.

It was on this very day (June 4), 29 years ago, when Warne stamped his authority in the Ashes as he delivered a the "ball of the century" to get the better of England batter Mike Gatting during the first Test at Manchester.

Shane Warne's untimely demise in March shocked the world this year. The legendary Australian spinner had passed away in Thailand this year and his memorial at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) was attended by many with tributes from Sachin Tendulkar, Nasser Hussain, Merv Hughes. In a latest, Jockey Noel Callow paid tribute to Warne after winning on a horse that was partly owned by the former Australian spinner. Callow had won the 1200m race in Gold Corse with a horse named Sacred Oath.
