Michael Vaughan and Wasim Jaffer have often indulged in great banter on social media. The former England cricket team captain and the ex-Indian cricket team player have often pulled each other's leg on Twitter and other social media platforms. So, when India lost to England in the fifth reschduled Test, it was time for Vaughan to take a dig at former Indian cricket team player Wasim Jaffer. "Just checking are ok @WasimJaffer14," Vaughan wrote on Twitter. The response from Jaffer was a smart one.

Jos Buttler said on Friday his appointment as England's new white-ball captain could spell the end of his Test career. Buttler succeeded Eoin Morgan as England skipper in the one-day international and Twenty20 formats after the 2019 50-over World Cup-winning captain announced his retirement from international cricket on Tuesday. The dynamic 31-year-old wicketkeeper-batsman had been vice-captain to Morgan, who cut short his Test career to focus on white-ball cricket, since 2015. World Cup winner Buttler, a star of the Indian Premier League, is a formidable run-scorer in limited overs cricket, where his fierce hitting has helped him compile 4,120 runs from 151 ODIs, including 10 hundreds.
Former England skipper Michael Vaughan was critical of opening batter Zak Crawley's form, saying that the bowlers have found his weakness. Crawley has struggled to score runs of late, and was dismissed on a score of nine on Day 2 of the ongoing fifth Test against India at Edgbaston in Birmingham. Vaughan recalled India batting great Sachin Tendulkar's initial struggles against Australia in 2004, before he decided to nullify the drive and ended up scoring 241 in Sydney.
Rishabh Pant blew away England with an astonishing knock of 146 off just 111 balls to put India in the driver's seat on Day 1 of the ongoing rescheduled fifth Test against England at Edgbaston. Pant's stunning assault on the England bowlers helped India recover after being reduced 98 for five at one stage. The accolades came pouring in from all over the world with the Indian wicketkeeper-batter receiving widespread praise for his attacking style of play. Former England captain Michael Vaughan too praised Pant, but at the same time, managed to put off some fans by comparing his knock to that of Jonny Bairstow.
Jos Buttler has downplayed the prospect of becoming an opener for the England Test team after he was touted for the role by ex-Sri Lanka skipper Kumar Sangakkara. Sangakkara this week said Buttler, who top-scored in the Indian Premier League (IPL) this season with 863 runs, could be a perfect fit for the Test team's newfound swashbuckling style under Ben Stokes and Brendon McCullum.
