Every April, as the NFL draft gets closer and I lock in my final Big Board rankings, I like to pick my favorite prospects at every position for the class. It has become a tradition, highlighting players I like more than the consensus, regardless of where they get drafted and where I have them ranked at their position.
The 2024 NFL draft wrapped up Saturday in Detroit. The historic weekend, which set a record for fan attendance, saw six quarterback selections in the first 12 picks — tying the 1983 class for most signal-callers drafted in the first round. By the end of Thursday night's first round, 23 offensive players were tapped to join NFL franchises, breaking the previous record of 19 offensive players selected in the first 32 slots.
How about that Round 1? The 2024 NFL draft began with quarterbacks going in the top three — Caleb Williams to the Bears, Jayden Daniels to the Commanders and Drake Maye to the Patriots — and there were several intriguing picks after that, along with a handful of trades. It was an amazing night in Detroit.
With 15 days until the 2024 NFL draft — Round 1 begins at 8 p.m. ET on April 25 on ESPN, ABC and ESPN+ — it's time to dig a little deeper. I'm going two full rounds in a new mock draft, filling roster holes for every team from pick No. 1 to No. 64. There isn't much drama for the Bears at the top of the board, but it could get chaotic quickly after that.

And though the top three quarterbacks and top two wideouts didn't go through workouts, more than 300 prospects went through on-field drills, medical testing and in-person interviews with coaches and front office executives for all 32 teams. It's the most important event on the way to Round 1 of the draft, which begins April 25.

This is where coaches and front office executives can really get to know players. The interviews that happen behind the scenes are just as important as the on-field testing you'll see on TV.
